Cinema halls can seat more people and swimming pools are now open for all as per the latest guidelines issued by the government on Wednesday.
With world’s largest vaccine drive underway in India clubbed with a steady decline in the number of active and new cases over the last four months, the new guidelines aim to consolidate the substantial gains made against Covid-19.
The guidelines will be effective from February 1, 2021
Highlights:
* Cinema halls and theatres, which were permitted 50 per cent of seating capacity, will be permitted to operate at higher seating capacity.
* Swimming pools opened for all. Until now, use of pools had been permitted for sportspersons only.
* Cap on the number of people attending a social, religious, educational etc. gathering ends. Until now, gatherings could be conducted only at 50 per cent of the hall capacity with a ceiling of 200 persons in closed spaces.
* All types of exhibition halls will be permitted.
* International air travel to further open up subject to ministry of civil aviation assessment.
* No restriction on inter-state and intra-state movement of persons and goods including those for cross land-border trade under treaties with neighbouring countries.
* Persons above 65 years of age, persons with co-morbidities, pregnant women, and children below the age of 10 years are advised to take necessary precautions.
* Use of Aarogya Setu mobile App will continue to be encouraged.
* Wearing of face masks, hand hygiene and social distancing to continue under Covid-19 appropriate behaviour.
* National directives for Covid-19 management shall continue to be followed throughout the country.
* Containment zones will be demarcated by the district authorities at the micro-level as per the requirement and within those zones containment measures will continue scrupulously.
* Local district, police and municipal authorities will continue to as implementing agencies of containment measures
